Nelson Mandela was born on 18 July 1918. His childhood name was Roliharahala. During primary education, a teacher gave him the name Nelson, after which he was known by this name. He was recognized worldwide for peace, abolition of apartheid, and freedom. Due to this, he spent 27 years in an African prison. He has been awarded the world's most prestigious prize Nobel in the year 1993 for laying a new foundation for democracy in South Africa. Nelson Mandela passed away on 5 December 2013.
