Nelson Mandela was born on 18 July 1918. His childhood name was Roliharahala. During primary education, a teacher gave him the name Nelson, after which he was known by this name. He has been awarded the world's most prestigious prize Nobel in the year 1993 for laying a new foundation for democracy in South Africa. Nelson Mandela passed away on 5 December 2013.
