Every year lakhs of students from the country go to complete their studies in the field of engineering. If it is about IIT, then who does not dream of it. However, the condition of even the best institutes in the country, IITs, is getting worse in providing employment. If we talk about civil engineering, then its condition is even worse. The students of this branch get an average placement as compared to other branches. At the same time, their salary also differs much more than others. This has come to the fore in recent research.
IIT NIT first choice
While pursuing engineering, the first thing that comes to mind among students is the choice of college and course. These include Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and many more in the minds of students. However, IITs and NITs are the first choices of students.
no guarantee of employment
However, research has revealed that this decision of students can also be wrong. It is now proving to be a myth that by getting admission to IIT, you have secured your future. If you do not take admission to the right branch in the engineering branch then it can prove to be a very difficult thing for you to get placement. According to the data, in 13 IITs in the country, about 23 percent of students could not get placements, while all of them had registered themselves for placements. This data specifically shows the condition of civil engineering. An analysis of data from 10 engineering colleges for civil engineering and 13 IITs for total placements in the year 2020-21 revealed that only 77 percent of the total students registered for placements were able to get jobs. At the same time, in the case of ten IITs, it remained only 57 percent.
