America's newly elected President Donald Trump has been offering to merge Canada with America for a long time. A few days ago, he even said that he could use economic power for this.

But Trump's dream has now been shattered. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has clearly said that this will not happen. Trudeau posted on social media site X and wrote, 'There is no possibility that Canada will be a part of the United States.'

Trump had threatened

While talking to reporters at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump was asked if he would use military power to merge Canada with America. To this, he replied, 'No, economic power. Because Canada and America will do something big together.'

Just a few hours after Trump's statement, Justin Trudeau replied to him by posting on X. Trudeau clearly said that this will never happen. He said that the workers and people of both countries benefit from being each other's biggest trade and security partners.

Trump's interest in Canada

It is not that Donald Trump's interest in Canada has arisen recently. He has been talking about making Canada the 51st state of America for a long time. Trump is also concerned about Canada's trade surplus with America.

He once told reporters that the border between Canada and the US is just an artificial line. Trump also said that America protects Canada, so national security can be improved by eliminating the border.

Canada gets subsidy

Trump says that America gives a subsidy of $ 200 billion to Canada every year. Due to this, America suffers a trade deficit. If we talk only about goods and services, then America had a loss of $ 40.6 billion in trade with Canada in 2023.

At the same time, America buys more than 4 million barrels of crude oil from Canada every day. Trump also threatened to impose a 25 percent tariff on Canada. Before this, Canada's Foreign Minister had also said that Canada is not going to be afraid of such threats.
