Since the bursting of firecrackers on Diwali night and increasing incidents of stubble burning in neighboring states, the level of pollution in Delhi is increasing day by day, due to which the air quality is deteriorating.

The air quality in Delhi worsened further on Friday. Now it has reached near the very serious (severe plus) category. The air quality index in the city was recorded at 437 at 7 am on Friday, while the AQI was recorded at 419 at 4 pm on Thursday.

Noida-Ghaziabad is also in bad condition

According to the Meteorological Department, the reason for the increase in Delhi pollution is the fog in the sky due to windy conditions and continuously falling temperatures. At the same time, air quality was recorded from very poor to severe in Ghaziabad (374), Gurugram (404), Greater Noida (313), Noida (366), and Faridabad (415) adjacent to Delhi.

Let us tell you that the 24-hour average AQI of the capital, recorded every day at 4 pm, was 401 on Wednesday, 397 on Tuesday, 358 on Monday, 218 on Sunday, 220 on Saturday, and 279 on Friday.

Grape-4 restrictions will be implemented soon

Given the ever-increasing pollution in Delhi, Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Thursday held a review meeting with the concerned officials at the Delhi Secretariat to ensure strict compliance with the Group Four rules. After the meeting, he said that the current pollution situation of environmental experts will remain in a very bad category for the next two to three days.

He said that in this meeting we also reviewed what action has been taken so far against those who violate the rules of Grape. Minister Rai said that under Grape-IV, BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel LMV ( A ban has been imposed on the operation of four-wheelers.

Will consider odd-even

Earlier, while talking to the media, Delhi's Environment Minister had said that we are keeping an eye on the situation. If the AQI reaches the severe plus category, the government will consider odd-even and artificial rainfall.

Apart from this, in August a report compiled by the Energy Policy Institute (EPIC) at the University of Chicago said that air pollution is reducing the lifespan of people in Delhi by almost 12 years.
