India has restored e-Visa service for Canadian citizens. After this decision, Jaishankar said that India had temporarily suspended the issuance of visas because the situation in Canada had made it difficult for our diplomats to work there.

 

However, now the situation is better and safer than before. Addressing a press briefing after the conclusion of the virtual G20 Leaders Summit on Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that physical visas have started in many categories.

 

India resumes e-Visa services for eligible Canadian citizens

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that regarding e-Visa, you know, first of all, it had nothing to do with the G20 meeting. We had temporarily suspended the issuance of visas because the situation in Canada made it difficult for our diplomats to get to the office and perform the tasks required for visa processing.

 

The Foreign Minister further said that only after a slight improvement in the current situation, we find it possible to gradually restart visa services. Let us tell you that the High Commission of India in Canada announced on Wednesday that India has resumed electronic visa services for eligible Canadian citizens.
