Thiruvananthapuram, March 27 (IANS) The Congress in Kerala is waiting to infuse some star power in election campaigns in the state, with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party chief Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi expected to arrive soon.
The Gandhi family has always been the biggest campaigners for the party in Kerala over the years.
While Rahul Gandhi is arriving April 4, Sonia Gandhi would be here April 7. However, the schedule of Manmohan Singh is yet to be confirmed.
"Their itinerary is getting fixed and every Congress-led UDF's candidate is expecting that they get at least one of the star campaigners," a party leader said.
Campaign managers in the party are trying to include as many places as possible for both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Kerala sends 20 members to the Lok Sabha. In the 2009 polls, the Congress-led United Democratic Front secured 16 seats, while the CPI-M-led Left Democratic Front managed four. The state goes to polls April 10.
