Amid increasing cases of Covid-19 in the country, the Union Health Ministry has said that despite this there has been no increase in the rate of hospitalization or deaths due to the epidemic. Health Department Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that a total of 344 cases of Omicron's sub-variant XBB.1.16 have been reported in the genome sequencing test in the last three months i.e. January, February, and March.

Most cases found in Maharashtra

A maximum of 105 cases have been found in Maharashtra. Apart from this, 93 cases have been reported in Telangana, 57 in Karnataka, 54 in Gujarat, and 19 in Delhi. He insisted that the corona is not over yet. According to last week's figures, 93,977 cases of infection are being reported daily in the world. That's why vigilance is very important.

He said that the cases of Omicron's sub-variants XBB.1.5 and XBB 1.16 are increasing and scientific research is going on, but despite all this, there is nothing to worry about. Bhushan said that there has been an increase in cases of infection in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka in the last week.

Center issued advisory

He said that a detailed letter was also issued to the seven states on March 16 to take necessary steps for the management of COVID-19. They have been advised to test-track-treat-vaccinate-and focus on COVID-appropriate behaviour.

On the other hand, due to increasing cases of infection, PM Modi also reviewed the situation by holding a high-level meeting on Wednesday. He had said that the pandemic is not yet over. It is important to be cautious about this.
