Along with this, he said that 9.96 crore first doses (82.2 percent coverage) and 7.79 crore second doses (64.3 percent coverage) have been given to children in the age group of 12 to 18 years till July 26. He also informed that the vaccination of children below 12 years has not been started yet.

 

No new variant found in the country

 

No new variant of the coronavirus has been found in the country. Union Minister of State for Health, Bharti Praveen Pawar told in the Lok Sabha that at present, the effect of the Omicron variant of Corona is being seen the most in most of the states. The rate of hospitalization of the infected with the mild effect of the variant is low. Minister of State Pawar said cooperation is being given to the states against Corona.

 

Four confirmed cases of monkeypox in the country

 

Pawar, Minister of State for Health, told the House that not a single case of death due to monkeypox has been reported in the country, while a total of four cases have been confirmed. He also said that some states are witnessing a steady increase in the cases of Kovid-19 since May.

 

No shortage of HIV drugs

 

Minister of State Pawar told the House, that there is no shortage of ARV medicines in the country for HIV patients. The states have sufficient antiretroviral drugs for about 95 percent of the patients living with HIV, he said.

 

No decision on rotational headship in AIIMS

 

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in Lok Sabha that the decision on rotational headship in AIIMS has not been taken yet. The recommendations of different committees on rotational headship differ. As such, no decision has been taken. Some of the top institutes including IISc are following the policy of rotational headship.
