For this reason, after finishing his schooling in Mewat, he got admission to Manav Rachna International University in Faridabad so that he could become an engineer. It took Shahbaz 11 years to complete a three-year degree.

Ahmed Jan further says- I did not know that in Faridabad his mind was not engaged in engineering studies. He was bunking classes for cricket. I came to know about this when a message came from the university that Shahbaz was not attending classes.
