Ghaziabad, Feb 7 (IANS) A criminal was nabbed Saturday and a carbine was recovered from him near the Pacific Mall in here, police said.
After an exchange of fire, a police team nabbed the criminal and recovered a carbine and a car, Indirapuram circle officer Atul Yadav.
At about 11.30 a.m., police noticed a car coming from Delhi, he said here.
On being signalled to stop for checking, the criminals started firing at police. During the firing, two criminals managed to escaped while one was nabbed, he said.
Yadav said the criminal revealed his identity as Ashok Gurjar, a resident of Greater Noida.
Over two dozen cases have been registered against Gurjar, of which 22 were only of murders.
