Sanju Samson has created history for Rajasthan Royals. Sanju Samson has become the player to captain the most number of matches for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. Samson broke the record of late great leg spinner Shane Warne. Sanju Samson achieved this feat as soon as he got the toss against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday.


 

This was Sanju Samson's 56th match as captain of Rajasthan Royals. Under his leadership, Rajasthan Royals registered 30 wins while facing defeat in 26 matches. Samson broke the record of Shane Warne, who led Rajasthan Royals in 55 matches. Under Warne's captaincy, Rajasthan Royals won 30 matches and lost 24 matches. One match did not result.

Rahul Dravid is in third place in terms of captaining Rajasthan Royals in the most number of matches. Dravid took command of the franchise in 34 matchesin which there were 18 wins and 16 losses. Australia's Steve Smith is in fourth position on this list. Smith captained 27 matches, in which the team won 15 and suffered 11 defeats. One match remained inconclusive.


 

Ajinkya Rahane completes the top-5 list of captaining Rajasthan Royals in the most number of matches. Rahane took charge of the team in 24 matches. Under Rahane's leadership, Rajasthan won only 9 matches and lost 15.
