A Russian court sentenced three people to death for helping Ukraine in its war against Russia. This decision was given by this court in the Russian-backed Donbas region in Ukraine. However, the court that handed down the sentence has not been given international recognition. Britain and Ukraine have called it a violation of international law.

The court is in Donetsk, which was declared independent by Russian President Putin at the start of the war. Brahim Saudoon, who lives in Morocco along with British nationals Aidan Aslin and Sean Piner, has been charged with professional murder. Apart from this, all three were also convicted of military activity and terrorism.

release continues

After the court's decision came, the lawyers of these people said that they would appeal against the decision. At the same time, the British government said - working together with Ukraine to get both the people released. Britain's Foreign Minister Liz Truss also condemned the court's decision. He said that the decision has no validity. The families of Aiden Aslin and Sean Piner said both have been living in Ukraine since 2018 and serving in the Ukrainian military.

Surrendered in front of pro-Russian forces

Pinner and Aslin surrendered to pro-Russian forces in Mariupol, Ukraine, in mid-April. At the same time, Brahim surrendered in the eastern city of Volnovkha in Ukraine in March this year. Earlier, Russia's military had said that foreigners fighting for Ukraine were not soldiers and could be punished if caught.

Putin compares himself to the first king of Russia

Here, Putin, who ordered destruction in Ukraine, has compared himself to the great King Peter of Russia. Putin said - when Peter the Great founded the city of St. Petersburg in Russia and declared it the Russian capital, then no country in Europe recognized this area as Russian territory. Russia needs to take back its territories and defend itself. He was pointing towards Ukraine.
