The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HARO) has urged to ensure justice for the killings of Russian nationals. In a letter to Patnaik, the organization called for a strong action plan for the safety of tourists, especially foreign tourists. The organization has called for special protection for foreign tourists during the Hockey Men's World Cup starting January 13.
Organization president JK Mohanty wrote in the letter that we request an inquiry into the death of two Russian tourists under mysterious circumstances. Necessary steps should be taken to prevent the further spread of negative news. Mohanty says that the death of Russian tourists is hurting the prospects of tourism in Odisha. He said that this incident is expected to reduce the arrival of foreign tourists in the state. Mohanty said that before the Corona pandemic, Odisha used to get around 1.5 lakh foreign tourists every year.
