Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets on Monday in IPL 2025. In this match, Digvesh Rathi of Lucknow clashed with Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers. He has been banned for one match for violating the IPL code of conduct. Along with this, a fine of 50 percent of the match fee has also been imposed. The match between Lucknow and Sunrisers was played at the Ekana Stadium.

Digvesh has got five demerit points

Digvesh has got five demerit points so far this season, due to which he has been suspended for one game. Now Digvesh will not be able to play in the match against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on May 22. Lucknow's team has been eliminated from the playoff race after losing against Sunrisers on Monday.

Had to pay the price for the notebook celebration

Actually, during the match, Digvesh did a notebook celebration after dismissing Abhishek, which Abhishek did not like. Before returning to the pavilion, he went to Digvesh and expressed his anger. After this, there was an argument between the two. After this, Abhishek also made some gestures about Digvesh's long hair. However, captain Rishabh Pant and the umpires came and separated the two and pacified the matter.

Digvesh has been fined twice before

Digvesh Rathi made Abhishek Sharma his victim. He was out after scoring 59 runs. Abhishek was batting well and had scored a half-century, but was caught by Shardul Thakur off Digvesh's ball. Abhishek played 20 balls in his innings and hit four fours and six sixes. However, after dismissing Abhishek, Digvesh once again did the same notebook celebration for which he had been fined twice. Abhishek looked very angry with Digvesh's action. Digvesh also reached Abhishek in anger and started gesturing for him to return to the pavilion. The on-field umpires and other Lucknow players separated these two batsmen, after which Abhishek returned to the pavilion.

What happened in the match?

In the match played on Monday, Lucknow, who lost the toss and came to bat first, scored 205 runs in 20 overs, losing seven wickets. In reply, Hyderabad scored 206 runs in 18.2 overs, losing four wickets, and won the match. Abhishek Sharma scored the highest 59 runs for them.
