In Delhi Chunav 2025, the challenge is more on those seats where Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had cut the tickets of its MLAs and fielded new candidates due to fear of defeat. If we assess the atmosphere of voting on Wednesday, then on such seats, AAP candidates had to face the displeasure of their MLAs along with BJP and Congress.
8 MLAs had joined BJP
If sources are to be believed, supporters of many MLAs did not vote for AAP candidates on such seats. Eight MLAs had left AAP a few days ago and joined BJP and had made many allegations including corruption against the AAP leadership.
We're working to defeat AAP candidates.
If sources are to be believed, these MLAs of AAP were working to defeat the party candidates since their tickets were cut. Now what will be the election result, it will be known only on February 8. Let us tell you here that this time AAP had cut the tickets of more than 20 MLAs.
Anger over ticket denial turned into rebellion.
These include the names of senior party leaders Dilip Pandey, MLA from Timarpur, and Shahdara MLA and Delhi Assembly Speaker Ramniwas Goyal. However, the party had made public a letter from these two leaders a few hours before denying their tickets, in which they had said that they do not want to contest the Assembly elections this time.
If sources are to be believed, before their tickets were denied, both the leaders had even prepared for campaigning in the area. They remained silent on the party's decision, but did not campaign for the candidate contesting from their seat. In Timarpur, AAP gave ticket to Surendra Singh Bittu, who had come from BJP, for whom AAP workers refused to work.
The loss suffered on these seats
This situation continued till the voting. In Shahdara too, most of Ramniwas Goyal's supporters could not join the candidate Jitendra Singh Shanti. Talking about other seats, a similar situation prevailed in Palam, Kasturba Nagar, Mehrauli, Deoli, Mustafabad, Adarsh Nagar, etc. seats, where your candidate had to bear the loss caused by your MLAs.
Pawan Sharma from Adarsh Nagar, Dharampal Lakra from Mundka, Rajesh Rishi from Janakpuri, BS June from Bijwasan, Bhavana Gaur from Palam, Rohit Mehraulia from Trilokpuri, Madan Lal from Kasturba Nagar and Naresh Yadav from Mehrauli are now in BJP.
Prakash Jarwal from Deoli and Haji Yunus from Mustafabad are also among those whose tickets were cut. Due to fear of losing the seat, the ticket of Hari Nagar MLA Raj Kumari Dhillon was cut at the last moment. She contested the election as an independent. Angry at not getting the ticket, former party MLA from Ghonda Shridutt Sharma joined BJP.
