PM Modi Gujarat Visit: 'I dedicate the success of Maha Kumbh to Lord Somnath', PM Modi after offering prayers at the temple

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday offered prayers at the Shri Somnath Jyotirlinga temple in Gujarat. During this, the PM also prayed for the health and prosperity of every countryman. Also, he bowed in front of the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the temple premises. After this, PM Modi said that he had dedicated the success of the 'Mahakumbh of Unity' to the feet of Shri Somnath Bhagwan.

 

PM Modi said that the Mahakumbh of Unity in Prayagraj was successful due to the efforts of crores of countrymen. I had resolved as a servant that after the Mahakumbh, I would worship Shri Somnath, the first Jyotirlinga out of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Today that resolution has been fulfilled with the blessings of Somnath Dada. On behalf of all the countrymen, I dedicate the success of the Mahakumbh to the feet of Shri Somnath Bhagwan.

 

More than 66 crore devotees attended the Mahakumbh

Mahakumbh 2025 emerged as a historic event with its divine, grand, and well-organized event, in which more than 66 crore devotees from India and around the world participated. The Maha Kumbh was held on the banks of Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, marking a sacred occasion after 144 years.

 

PM Modi arrives in Gujarat on a three-day visit.

 

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Gujarat on Saturday on a three-day visit. On Monday, he will visit Sasangir in the Junagadh district of Gujarat on the occasion of World Wildlife Day.

 

PM Modi extends Ramadan greetings.

 

Earlier in the day, PM Modi wished people a happy beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. In a post on X, the PM said, 'The holy month of Ramadan is starting, may it bring peace and harmony in our society. This holy month is a symbol of contemplation, gratitude, and devotion, as well as reminds us of the values ​​of compassion, kindness, and service. Ramadan Mubarak!'

Apart from this, PM Modi on Saturday met former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who is currently on a visit to India. Sharing a picture with Abbott on Twitter, PM Modi said, "It was a great pleasure to meet my good friend and former Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott. He has always been a friend of India. We all have seen him enjoying millets during his current visit."
