Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday launched a major attack on Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar over the Yamuna water dispute. Kejriwal said that the Election Commission is playing politics. Rajiv Kumar wants a retirement post. The Election Commission has never been ruined in history. I know they will put me in jail. Rajiv Kumar is playing politics. If he wants to do politics, he should contest elections.
In a press conference, Arvind Kejriwal said that drinking water from Haryana comes to Delhi through Yamuna. This is raw water. It is treated. Poisonous water has been coming for the last few days. Ammonia in it has reached 7 ppm, which is dangerous for health. It can damage many organs. It can also cause death. This issue was raised a few days ago. We were helpless.
He further said, 'Ammonia started increasing earlier also. Atishi called Naib Saini. She requested that the ammonia level be increasing, get it reduced. It can be life-threatening. If the ammonia level exceeds 1 ppm, then the water treatment plant has to be closed. Nayab Saini came on the phone 3 times and asked to do something. Then he stopped attending Atishi's calls. When the ammonia level came down to 7 ppm, Atishi expressed that poison (high ammonia) was being sent to Delhi through Yamuna. If water goes to WTP, it can be dangerous. If ammonia water gets chlorinated, then nothing is more deadly than this.'
The former CM said, 'We did not want to do politics. It is a matter of great interest that ever since the topic of ammonia was raised, it has decreased. Now it has come down to 3 ppm. That means who was doing it? Now they are threatening to file a case, and do whatever they want, by sending poisonous water to the people of Delhi, they can harm health and life. Put me in jail, I am coming out of jail now. As long as I am alive, I will not make the people of Delhi drink poisonous water. I am not going to be afraid of their threats. They are getting notices and letters from someone. Congratulations to them for the notice and letter. I stand with the people of Delhi.'
Kejriwal said, 'Yesterday Nayab Saini did a drama. Yesterday God supported him. Yesterday he went to Palla and asked everyone to drink water. There is a video of this, then he threw away the water. Either the water was stinking or dirty. It felt like I was vomiting. Today I have sent water bottles mixed with 7 ppm ammonia and chlorine to Amit Shah, Virendra Sachdeva, Nayab Saini, and Rahul Gandhi. If the truth is with them, then all four of them should drink the water and show it.'
