According to the report, Gambhir received two threatening emails on April 22. One email came in the afternoon and the other in the evening. Both had the message 'I Kill You' written in them. This is not the first time Gambhir has faced such threats. He had also received a similar email during his tenure as an MP in November 2021.
Gambhir condemned the Pahalgam terror attack.
Gambhir on Tuesday condemned the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir. 26 civilians, including two foreign nationals, were killed in firing by terrorists on tourists in the Bysaran Valley in Pahalgam on Tuesday. It became one of the worst incidents since the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy organization of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the attack. Gambhir wrote on X, 'Prayers for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay the price. India will strike.'
Many other cricketers also condemned the terror attack.
Apart from Gambhir, many other cricketers also condemned the Pahalgam terror attack. These include cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav. Former Indian cricketer Shreevats Goswami demanded a complete end to sports relations with Pakistan. At the same time, Tendulkar wrote, 'The victim families must be going through unimaginable pain. People in India and around the world are with them in this difficult time. We pay tribute to those who lost their lives in this attack and pray for justice.' Virat Kohli wrote on Instagram, 'Deep condolences to the victim families. I pray for the families of those who lost their lives in this cowardly attack and pray that the family gets the strength to bear this grief.'
