Delhi Ordinance Bill: Amit Shah targets Delhi's Kejriwal government, opens secrets of vigilance files

Union Home Minister Amit Shah made several revelations while discussing the Delhi Services Bill in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. He mentioned several files related to the Vigilance Department. Amit Shah said, in 2015 such a party came to power in Delhi, whose aim was not only to serve the people. The problem here was not even to get the right of transfer posting. The reason behind this was Kejriwal capturing the vigilance department to hide the corruption in building his bungalow. Corruption in the Excise Department, due to which his deputy CM had to go to jail, its files had to be removed from the Vigilance Department. Because of this, now the opposition is opposing the Delhi Services Bill.

Let us tell you that when the hearing was held in the Supreme Court against the Delhi Ordinance on July 17, the Central Government said that the Delhi government led by the Aam Aadmi Party is harassing the officers of the Vigilance Department. Because of that, this ordinance has been brought. The Central Government said before the Supreme Court, the Kejriwal Government of Delhi is trying to capture the files illegally. Vigilance is probing the liquor policy of the Delhi Government and the renovation that took place at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence. The Delhi government has illegally seized the files of the investigation.

On May 19, the central government, through an ordinance, overturned a Supreme Court order that gave executive powers to the Delhi government in service matters, including transfer-posting of officers. The central government said in the Supreme Court, Delhi is forced to bring the ordinance urgently due to the embarrassing situation that has arisen very quickly. Waiting for the next session of Parliament would have paralyzed the national capital.

It was said on behalf of the Central Government, the ministers of the Delhi Government give threats to the officers. The Home Ministry accused the Delhi government of deliberately targeting officials of the Vigilance Department. Vigilance files were illegally taken into possession. The officers were accused of forcibly entering the chamber. Vigilance seized files related to the Delhi Excise policy case, a probe into the renovation of Kejriwal's residence, advertisements sponsored by the Delhi government, and electricity subsidies given to private companies.

The Delhi Police had registered a case of alleged deletion of important files from the Vigilance Directorate. However, a case of criminal conspiracy was registered against unknown persons in this case. The AAP government had termed this FIR as false. DCP (Central) Sanjay Sain had said that a complaint was received at the IP Estate police station regarding the "unauthorized removal" of confidential records from the room of YVVJ Rajasekhar, Special Secretary (Vigilance), Vigilance Directorate.

Rajasekhar had claimed that he had some files which were being probed by central agencies. The alleged confidentiality of the files was compromised to destroy evidence and delay the investigation. Raj Shekhar had allegedly accused Vigilance Department Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj of lifting the most sensitive files.
