Politics over language is at its peak in Maharashtra. The war of words between MNS chief Raj Thackeray and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey is continuing. In response to the BJP MP's 'Patak-Patak Kar Maarenge', Raj Thackeray said 'Dubo-Dubo Ke Maarenge'. On this, Nishikant Dubey took a dig at Raj Thackeray and said, "Did you teach me Hindi?"

Recently, a shopkeeper was beaten up for not speaking Marathi, on which Nishikant Dubey had allegedly said, "Patak-Patak Ke Maarenge". There was a lot of controversy over this statement of his. The MP from Godda had said, "If those who beat up Hindi speaking people in Mumbai have the courage, then beat up Urdu speaking people in Maharashtra, beat up Tamil and Telugu speaking people." He had further said, "If you are such a big boss, then come to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, we will beat you up."

Raj Thackeray replied to Nishikant Dubey.

On this, Raj Thackeray, while addressing a public meeting, challenged Nishikant Dubey to come to Mumbai and said, "A BJP MP said that we will beat Marathi people here...you come to Mumbai. We will drown them in the sea of Mumbai." However, when Raj Thackeray was giving this statement, he was speaking in Hindi. On this statement of his, Nishikant Dubey retorted, 'Did I teach Hindi to Raj Thackeray?'

'You will get a slap on the face'

Raj Thackeray, while addressing a rally in Mira-Bhayander, Mumbai, said, "Now if you cannot understand Marathi, even if it is spoken directly in your ear, you will get a slap on the face. People create a ruckus without any reason." He said this at a time when a few days ago, his party workers had beaten up a shop owner for not speaking Marathi.
