'Disaster snatched homes from people, state government should ensure security of temples'- Rahul Gandhi on Joshimath case

Rahul Gandhi Worry About Joshimath: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has expressed concern over the Joshimath landslide in Uttarakhand. Rahul Gandhi expressed his concern by writing a long post on Facebook on this subject. In his post, he appealed to the Congress workers to help the victims.

 

In his post, Rahul wrote, "The pictures coming from Joshimath in Uttarakhand are very disturbing, seeing which wide cracks in houses, seepage of water, bursting of land and subsidence of roads are very worrying. In an accident, Even the Bhagwati temple collapsed due to the landslide."

Rahul Gandhi has called it the result of tampering with nature. He further wrote, "Continuous digging and unplanned construction on the mountains, going against nature, has caused a terrible crisis to the people of Joshimath today. In this bitter cold, this calamity has taken away the houses from the people. All the Congress My appeal to the workers is to help people as soon as possible and take them to safe places."

The Congress leader has also appealed to the Uttarakhand government to make arrangements for early rehabilitation of the victims. He wrote, "The Uttarakhand government is expected to take cognizance of the people in this harsh weather and arrange for their immediate rehabilitation and ensure the safety of the temple." Please tell that Joshimath is at an altitude of 1,890 meters in the 'Garhwal Himalaya' of Uttarakhand under the Himalayan region. Due to the alleged indiscriminate development projects, it has been surrounded by a crisis. More than 500 houses in the area have developed cracks, the ground is bursting and roads are sinking.

 

The central government constituted a committee

 

Now the central government has become fully alert in this matter. The Modi government has constituted a committee regarding the incident of land subsidence in Joshimath. This committee will study the incident and its impact fast. An office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Jal Shakti said that representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Central Water Commission, Geological Survey of India, and Clean Ganga Mission will be included in the committee.
