The new variant of coronavirus EG.5.1 is spreading rapidly in the UK, which has been named Eris. The UK Health Security Agency says that 14 percent of the total cases of Covid are linked to the Aeris variant only. This new strain of corona has also been found in many other countries including South Korea, Japan, and Canada. At present, WHO has included it in the category of Variant of Interest. Please tell that Covid-19 has killed millions of people worldwide and crores of people were infected by it. According to media reports, the first case of the new variant of Corona came in India in May but not many cases have been reported till now. Eris is a sub-variant of the Omekron variant of Covid itself. This variant of Omicron's mutant is spreading rapidly.

According to the report, more than 4 thousand tests have been done so far, out of which 5.4 percent of cases have been identified as Covid. Covid Advisory Test Group head N.K. Arora says not to worry about Eris in any way. It has been in India for three months. It was identified earlier than other countries of the world. There has not been an increase in its cases, nor have its cases required hospitalization. He said that after 2021, no such variant of corona has been identified in which people would need to be admitted to the hospital. Corona infection can be protected from infection by following general measures to prevent it.

Dr. Ishwar Gilda, Infectious Disease Specialist, and General Secretary of Organized Medicine Academic Guild, says that we should not panic with Eris. It is a sub-variant of Omicron. Omicron didn't bother people much in India. People have been vaccinated due to which immunity has also improved. Many people have hybrid immunity. The arrangements of the government are strong.

a new variant of Corona

Recently scientists have come to know about a new variant of Corona EG.5.1. It has also been called the Eris variant. Patients infected with this new variant have been confirmed in many countries of the world. Eris is considered to be the most infectious of all the variants of the coronavirus that have been revealed so far. This variant is mutating rapidly and genetic changes are also taking place in it. The Eris variant or EG.5.1 is a subtype of the XBB variant from Omicron. The symptoms seen when infected with this variant are also similar to Omicron. However, it is said to be 45 times more infectious than the XBB variant of Omicron. As of 6 August, 116 cases of ERIS have been reported in India. But after getting infected with Eris, the patients are not facing any special problems and like other variants, even after getting infected with it, the patients are recovering quickly.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has also said that there is no need to worry about the new variant. The government is constantly keeping an eye. Genome sequencing has not been stopped yet. The situation is under control. He said that the risk of corona infection is less in the country, but there is a need for all people to be constantly careful regarding prevention and prevention of infection.

Variants of coronavirus kept in three categories

In fact, at the time of the onset of the corona pandemic in 2019, the WHO placed the variant of the coronavirus under three categories. These include variants of interest, variants of concern, and variants of high-consequence. WHO says that very few cases of EG.5 and its sub-lineage have been reported so far in the world. However, their number is considerable in the UK and the US, while a case was found in India during May last, which also recovered in two days.
