The third installment of the romantic drama 'Aashiqui' franchise, 'Aashiqui 3', was announced in the year 2022. Since then, a lot has been revealed about the film. Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt planned to produce the romantic drama led by Kartik Aaryan. At the same time, Anurag Basu took over the direction of it. It was renamed 'Tu Aashiqui Hai' and removed from the 'Aashiqui' franchise. At the same time, now it seems that Kartik Aaryan has unexpectedly changed the direction of the story.

Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal became famous within hours of 'Aashiqui' released in 1990. T-Series and Bhatt's Special Films produced 'Aashiqui 2' (2013), which reunited Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. The insider claims that Bhushan is now trying to figure out how to move forward with Bhatt given Aaryan's eagerness to lead the franchise. This is one of the reasons why the shooting of the film will have to wait till next year. It will also star Tripti Dimri in the lead role.
