Washington, Feb 19 (IANS) Fourteen films, exploring the unique circumstances and complex stories of South Asians, will be featured at the first South Asian Film Festival in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas Feb 27 to March 1.
The festival featuring the stories of South Asians living in America, India, Nepal, Australia and Singapore, will bring together directors, actors, producers, community organizations, corporate brands and South Asian cinephiles.
"Brahmin Bulls" will be the Opening Night Film at the Angelika Film Centre in Plano at the festival produced by JINGO Media, a Dallas and New York City-based PR and events management boutique firm.
Films to be showcased at the festival are:
Shorts & Documentaries: Katiyabaaz, Asian Pride Project, Fire in the Blood, Tomorrow We Disappear
Women's Programming: Blouse, Happy Raksha Bandhan, Sold (centerpiece feature)
Children's Programming: Ravi and Jane, The World of Goopi & Bagha
Youth Programming: Therapy, Just Friends, Acceptance
