Mobile, internet shutdown in Pakistan; Power shortage increased the difficulty

Mobile and internet services have come to a standstill in Pakistan due to the power shortage. The Pakistan National Information Technology Board (NITB) has also issued a warning regarding this. In a tweet about this, NITB has written that there are hours of power cuts across the country. Disturbed by this, telecom operators have warned of shutting down mobile and internet services. Power cuts are causing hardship to the operators and they are not able to continue with their services.

At the same time, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has already issued a warning of more power cuts. He said that due to increasing pressure, there will be more power crises in July. He said that Pakistan is not getting the supply of liquefied natural gas as per its requirement. The Prime Minister said that the coalition government, however, is trying to make this deal possible.

 

Problems due to non-supply of liquid gas

 

Significantly, Pakistan is constantly battling a power crisis. According to Geo News, the gas supply deal to be held next month has not been done. At the same time, the figures are continuously showing that Pakistan is struggling with the supply of liquefied gas, while it has the highest demand here amid the scorching heat. At the same time, to save electricity, the government of Pakistan has reduced the working hours of government employees. Along with this, shopping malls and factories in various cities including Karachi have been ordered to be closed before evening.

On the other hand, Pakistan's Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said that the government is in talks with Qatar for a new liquefied gas supply of five or ten years. Significantly, inflation in Pakistan reached double digits in July. This is the biggest figure for this year.
