China has made a big bet to suppress the protest of Uygar Muslims in Xinjiang province. To eliminate the identity of the Uygar Muslim population here, Uyghur girls are being forcibly married to Chinese youths.
Special allowances are being given to the youth of China's Han community for marriage. According to Washington's Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP), if an Uyghur girl opposes the forced marriage, her parents are put in jail.
Girl can't resist marrying Han boy
According to the UHRP, no Uyghur girl can oppose marriage to a Han boy. Only after Jinping was elected General Secretary of the Communist Party for the third time, 100 Han youths and Uyghur girls have been married in Xinjiang province. These marriages take place in the presence of Communist officials.
4.5 lakh for Han-Uygar marriage.
A Han boy is given about 4.5 lakh rupees for marrying a Uygar girl. Couples are also given free housing, medical facilities, and other types of special allowances for this type of inter-caste marriage, but all these facilities are issued in the name of Han boy only.
Jinping's One Nation, One Family Project
This type of interracial marriage between Han youth and Uyghur girls is the One Nation, One Family project of Chinese President Jinping. They believe that this type of interracial marriage can suppress the opposition of Uyghur Muslims in western Xinjiang province.
