The central government is going to build a frontier highway in the Northeast for Rs 40,000 crore to counter China's plans permanently. This highway, about 2 thousand kilometers long, will also prove to be the lifeline of Arunachal Pradesh and India's permanent ground position line in front of China. Talking of strategic importance, it will pass through the McMahon Line, the boundary line drawn between India and Tibet.
British Foreign Secretary Henry McMahon had presented it as a border and India considers it as the real border while China has been rejecting it. The construction of this highway will be done jointly by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) and the National Highway Authority. The army will provide logistic support. After Tawang, the Frontier Highway will go to Myanmar after East Kameng, West Siang, Desali, Dong, and Hawai.

This highway will connect all the important strategic areas of Arunachal. In this, highway connectivity will be provided between Upper Subansiri, Dibang Valley, Chaglagam, and Kibithu via Vijayanagar to Mago-Thingbu of Tawang.

The Army has deployed new landing ships and speed boats for patrolling the Pangong Tso Lake in eastern Ladakh. At the beginning of 2021, two agreements were signed by the army for landing ships and speed boats. These were handed over to the Army in the second half of 2021.
