The restrictions imposed due to the Corona epidemic in the country are going to end soon. The central government has decided to remove all the existing restrictions imposed during the corona epidemic. On Wednesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order stating that from March 31, the Disaster Management Act will no longer be implemented for all the safety measures engaged in COVID-19. However, it will still be mandatory to wear masks and follow social distancing in public places.
Because of the continuous improvement in the situation of Corona in the country, the Center has decided to repeal the provisions of the Disaster Management Act for COVID-19 prevention measures. This order will come into effect from March 31. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, now the situation of Corona in the country is under control. In such a situation, there is no longer any need to implement the Disaster Management Act for COVID-19 prevention measures.
India's position is stronger than other countries
The Center has taken this decision at a time when cases of Omicron BA-2 are increasing continuously in China, South Korea, Vietnam, France, and Germany. However, India is in a much better position to deal with this disease. The vaccine campaign in India is going strong and all people above the age of 12 years are getting the vaccine in India. In March, only 23,913 cases of corona have been registered in the country.
Orders will be applicable from March 31
Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla on Wednesday issued an order advising all states and union territories to appropriately discontinue the guidelines issued under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 for COVID-19 containment measures. Under this act, for the first time on 24 March 2020, the Central Government issued orders for the prevention of COVID-19 in the country.
Bhalla said- After the current order expires on March 31, no further order will be issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Centre's measures for COVID protection under the Disaster Management Act will end on March 31.
States and Union Territories can decide at their level
The Home Secretary, however, said that because of the disease, people still need to be alert to the situation. He said that whenever the cases increase, the states and union territories can implement the rules at their level.
