After the England tour, the former Team India captain will be looking for his form through the Asia Cup 2022. Earlier, he was rested for the tour of the West Indies and Zimbabwe. These days there is a lot of discussion about Kohli's form, in such a situation, the stage of the Asia Cup can prove to be the best platform for him to get into form. But former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has different thinking. According to Pathan, Virat Kohli is needed by the team in the T20 World Cup more than in the Asia Cup.
Talking on Star Sports' show Gameplan, Pathan said, "As far as the mind is concerned, what would Virat Kohli be thinking, what kind of mindset would he come up with and play the match, I think yes, Asia Cup. Important, but when I talk about the World Cup, where the pitches in Australia will be very, very good, which is what they like, they have done well in Australia. So the Indian team will want them with form in the World Cup and If he achieves top form from the Asia Cup, I think it will be a win-win situation for Virat Kohli and Team India.
When Pathan was asked what would happen if Virat Kohli fails to regain form in the Asia Cup? On this, he said that then India can look at the option.
Pathan said that "the team has many options. Any one of them can be picked. Because you want someone to go into the World Cup with good form. You can't get the form in the World Cup," he added, however. That he is sure that Kohli will achieve his form in the Asia Cup." Let us tell you that it has been more than 1000 days since Virat's last century with the bat and the Asia Cup match against Pakistan is the best for him is an option.
