The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday released the list of the top 10 districts and cities, stating that the current 6,58,909 active cases of the coronavirus epidemic in the country contribute significantly. The Health Ministry said that eight of these 10 districts are in Maharashtra. Talking about the state, the contribution of Maharashtra alone is 59.63 percent.
According to a comparative analysis, the Health Ministry data showed that Maharashtra has seen a nine-fold increase in the number of active cases of corona from February 3 to April 3, while Delhi has seen a 10-fold increase during the same period.
The Center has classified 11 states and Union Territories as areas of 'serious concern' due to the huge increase in daily cases and mortality for the last two weeks. The Health Ministry said that these states have been asked to strictly follow the Corona Guidelines. It has also been suggested to increase the corona test as well.
India has recorded a huge surge in daily cases of coronavirus disease on Saturday. Nearly 90,000 new cases of infection have been reported in the last 24 hours.
From Bengaluru in the south to Delhi in the north, these 10 districts contribute 50 percent of the corona cases in the country:
Pune contributes 10.75 percent of active cases in Maharashtra.
Pune follows Mumbai as it grew by 8.75 percent.
Another district in Maharashtra is Nagpur with a 7.71 percent share.
Maharashtra has a 6.83 percent stake in Thane.
Nashik's contribution is 5.66 percent.
Bengaluru Urban has a 3.73 percent stake.
It has a two percent stake in Aurangabad.
It holds a 1.82 percent stake in Delhi.
Ahmednagar contributes 1.74 percent.
Maharashtra has a 1.67 percent stake in Nanded.
81.42 percent of new cases of coronavirus from eight states
The Union Health Ministry said that there has been a sharp increase in coronavirus cases in eight states and out of the total reported cases on Saturday, 81.42 percent of the new patients are from these states. According to the ministry, these eight states include Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh. The number of cases reported in India has increased to 6,58,909 and this is 5.32 percent of the total cases. There has been an increase of 44,213 cases in one day.
The number of patients admitted in Maharashtra has increased by nine times in the last two months. In percentage terms, the number of patients being treated for infection has increased the most in Punjab. In the country, 77.3 percent of the coronavirus infections being treated are in five states - Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Punjab. Maharashtra alone accounts for 59.36 percent of the country's cases.
According to the ministry, 89,129 new cases of Covid-19 occurred in India on Saturday, the highest one-day increase in nearly six and a half months. After this, the total number of cases in the country has exceeded 1.23 million. After the death of 714 more people in the country, the death toll has reached 1,64,110. The highest number of deaths occurred in a single day after 21 October. Maharashtra has the highest number of 47,913 cases in a single day. Subsequently, 4,991 new patients have been confirmed in Karnataka and 4,174 in Chhattisgarh.
The ministry said that cases are increasing daily in 12 states including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala.
