Japan PM Attacked The matter of attack on Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has come to the fore. An unidentified man threw a pipe-like object during a speech by the Japanese PM in Wakayama city. According to Japanese media, the pipe fell near the PM, but he was not harmed.

According to the information, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was safely evacuated after the attack. News agency Reuters reported that a loud explosion-like sound was heard at the scene.

 

Fumio Kishida was just beginning his speech after visiting a fishing port in the western Japanese city when the incident happened. Kishida is scheduled to host the Group of Seven (G7) leaders' summit in Hiroshima next month.

 

Police arrested a person

Japanese media reported that police detained a man at the scene. Footage from Japan's state channel NHK showed crowds of people running away. Police officers, after the explosion, seized a man from the scene and made him lie on the ground.

 

Former PM Shinzo Abe was murdered last year

The incident comes after former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot dead by an assailant last year while campaigning. During the speech, Abe was shot twice, after which his condition remained critical. He also had a heart attack after the attack and died due to excessive bleeding.
