Lok Sabha Election: 61.55 percent voting in the third phase, maximum votes were cast in Assam and least in Maharashtra.

In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, 61.55 percent voting took place in 93 Lok Sabha seats in 11 states and union territories. During this period, despite sporadic incidents of violence in Bengal, voting remained peaceful. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi voted in Gandhinagar while Home Minister Shah voted in Ahmedabad.


 

Voting took place on 93 seats in the third phase

The highest turnout in the third phase was in Assam with 75.30 percent. At the same time, 73.93 percent of voting took place in Bengal and the least 54.98 percent of voting took place in Maharashtra. In the 2019 general elections, BJP had won 72 out of 93 seats that went to polls today.


 

Let us inform you that in the first two phases, voting has been completed on 189 out of 543 seats. Voting took place on 93 seats in the third phase. In such a situation, voting has been done on almost half the seats, while the next four phases will be held on 13 May20 May25 May and 1 June. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.

In this phase, Home Minister Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Shivraj Singh Chauhan (Vidisha), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar), Purushottam Rupala (Rajkot), Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad), SP Singh Baghel (Agra), Dimple Yadav (Mainpuri), Supriya Sule (Baramati) and veteran Congress leader Digvijay Singh (Rajgarh) are in the fray.


 

More than 55 percent of voting was recorded in Uttar Pradesh

About 55.13 percent of voting has been recorded in 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh. SP candidate Dimple Yadav, BJP candidate Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh, and Shivprasad Yadav from BSP are in the fray from the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. Fighting and stones were pelting at the polling booth in Tejganj village of Bewar. It is alleged that SP workers were trying to dump polling here. When Sumit Pratap Singh, son of BJP candidate Jaiveer Singh, reached the spot and protested, the unruly elements pelted stones. Sumit Pratap's vehicle was damaged in stone pelting.


 

A heated altercation between police and SP candidate

The car of the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh State Construction Cooperative Federation (Paxfed) was also attacked. It is alleged that the attackers also raised slogans of Akhilesh Yadav Zindabad. On the complaint of fake voting in Sambhal, the police resorted to lathi-charge and drove the people out.

Police officers also had a heated argument with the SP candidate. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav alleged that BJP workers were trying to "loot booths" in Mainpuri and people from opposition parties were being detained in police stations.


 

What percentage of voting took place in which state?

According to the Election Commission, 60 percent of voting took place on five seats in Bihar. However, this is 01.22 percent less than the previous LOS election. 55.22 percent voting took place on 25 seats in Gujarat, while the BJP candidate was elected unopposed on the Surat Lok Sabha seat.


 

70 percent voting took place in Chhattisgarh. Here, there has been less voting in urban areas and more voting in rural and tribal areas. In other states, 74.32 percent of voting took place in Goa, 66.05 percent in Karnataka, 65.23 percent in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and 62.28 percent in Madhya Pradesh till 5 pm.


 

Amid sporadic incidents, fewer votes were cast in the third phase in Bengal.

A total of 73.93 percent of votes were cast in four seats of Bengal amid sporadic incidents. In the last Lok Sabha elections, a total of 81.66 percent of votes were cast on these four seats. The house of a Congress leader was bombed in Hariharpara, Murshidabad. The blame has been leveled on Trinamool. BJP candidate Dhananjay Ghosh clashed with Trinamool workers at a booth in Jangipur. A total of 433 complaints have been deposited with the Election Commission. According to the commission, no arrests have been made in the third phase.


 

Polling personnel lost their lives while on duty

During voting in Bihar, a Home Guard jawan and a presiding officer died due to cardiac arrest. Apart from this, two government employees in Karnataka also died due to heart failure. A woman election officer has died in Gujarat.


 

Elderly woman tied Rakhi to PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday cast his vote at Nishan School in Ranip under Gandhinagar seat. During this, the people present there welcomed him enthusiastically with slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram'. Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed Prime Minister Modi outside the polling booth. Meanwhile, amidst the crowd of supporters and well-wishers, an elderly woman tied Rakhi to PM Modi. On this, Prime Minister Modi folded hands and sought blessings from him.


 

PM Modi praised the Election Commission

He urged everyone to exercise their franchise. PM Modi praised the Election Commission for conducting a smooth and violence-free electoral process. Earlier there used to be violence during voting, but now it is not so. This is an example for all democracies of the world. This is a case study.
