Sitaram said that the operation of the big line started in the year 1980. This is the third incident in 44 years, but this was more painful than the previous two incidents. Only cries of 'save me, save me' could be heard.

Three accidents in 44 years
The Gonda-Gorakhpur railway route was made a broad gauge in 1980. Badri of Pikaura village said that three accidents have happened in the 44 years since the line was built. For the first time in 1990, the bogies of the Sabarmati Express derailed near Katka of Jhilahi.
After this, around the year 2000, the coaches of the Avadh-Assam Express train derailed and went into the field near Gunaura. It was told that more than 40 passengers were injured then. This is the third incident within two kilometers.

On Friday, to make the line operational, the bogies of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express were dropped from the track. It was covered with a curtain. After this, the work of line repair was started. The train had 24 bogies. Its engine has been parked at Jhilahi.
One track has been restored. While the repair of the other track is being done vigorously. 100 meters on this side and 100 meters on the other side of the track are filled with water, due to which various speculations are being made about the accident.
Officials remained firm
On Friday, Northeast Railway General Manager Saumya Mathur, Principal Chief Engineer Ranjan Yadav, PCME Manoj Kumar Agarwal, PCEE Sanjay Singhal, MTRS Railway Board Satish Kumar and DRM Aditya Kumar remained firm.
