Many countries of the world including India have seen a rapid increase in cases of infection due to the Omicron variant of Corona during May-June. However, by the second week of June, the pace of infection was quite controlled. On May 22, the total active cases of corona in the country were 257, which increased to 7400 by June 15. However, since then, there has been a steady decrease in the cases of infection. Even though Corona has been missing from the news for a few days, however, you must have this question in your mind how is the situation in the country due to Corona at present? Is the infection still increasing in the country or have the cases calmed down completely now?
If we look at the current situation of Corona in the country, it is known that on June 30, the active cases have come down to 1902. Now the cases of death per day have also come down, there has not been a single death due to infection in the last 24 hours, which is a very relieving news.
Health experts say, like before, the cases of corona in the country are once again slowly coming under control, although the virus remains constantly among us, so the mistake of taking corona lightly should not be made.
Reduction in cases after a rapid surge
At the beginning of this wave of Omicron's sub-variants (NB.1.8.1 and XFG) in the country, in a conversation with Amar Ujala, Dr. Anish Sinha, infectious disease-epidemiologist at the Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar Gujarat, had said that the faster the infection increases in the country, the faster its cases will decrease. The speed at which coronavirus cases are increasing in May has decreased very rapidly.
Doctors say, the corona virus is always present around us and it becomes active again due to mutation over time. The possibility of more new variants and new waves in the future cannot be ignored, so it is most important that we learn to live with corona.
