Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh recently made headlines after he received a legal notice from the Telangana government. The notice warned him not to play songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence during his upcoming concert in Hyderabad. Now, the singer has responded to the notice funnily.
Diljit will not sing alcohol-related songs.
During his concert in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Diljit Dosanjh addressed the legal issue surrounding his concert. He revealed that he had not received any notice that day, but assured his audience that respecting the prohibition laws, he would not sing alcohol-related songs during the performance.
Took a dig at Bollywood celebrities
Diljit also addressed the ongoing controversy by making it clear that Bollywood has many songs about alcohol, but only a few of his tracks reference it. He also took a dig at Bollywood celebrities and revealed that he does not endorse or advertise alcohol.
Diljit said this
During his recent concert in Ahmedabad, he declared, "Even today I will not sing any song on alcohol. This is because Gujarat is a prohibition state." He said that if all the states ban alcohol, he will stop singing songs about alcohol."
Diljit gave a funny answer.
The singer said, "Let's start a movement. If all the states declare themselves alcohol-free states, then from the next day Diljit Dosanjh will stop singing songs based on alcohol in live concerts. I have another proposal. In whichever city I perform, declare it a dry day for a day, I will not sing songs based on alcohol."
