Some time ago, former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain and star cricketer Virat Kohli had said that next year AB de Villiers can be seen in a new role with the team. ABD was inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame along with Chris Gayle during the current IPL season. Whether ABD will return to RCB or not, there was curiosity in the minds of the fans and now ABD itself has announced that he will return in the next IPL.
ABD has been an integral part of RCB. He had decided to say goodbye to professional cricket last year. Former RCB captain Virat Kohli said this month that he expects de Villiers to join RCB in a new role next year.
De Villiers told VU Sport, 'I am glad that Virat has confirmed it. To be honest, nothing has been decided yet. I will return to IPL next year. I don't know in which role but I am missing him.
He said, 'Heard that some matches may be held in Bangalore. I would like to return to my second home and see the packed Chinnaswamy Stadium again. I am waiting to return. De Villiers has scored 5162 runs for RCB at an average of 39.71 including three centuries and 40 half-centuries.
