Another accused policeman of the Kanpur businessman Manish Gupta murder case was arrested. Head constable Kamlesh Yadav, who is wanted in the murder case, was arrested by the Gorakhpur police at around 1:00 pm on Wednesday. SIT is interrogating Kamlesh Yadav, sub-inspector Vijay Yadav is still absconding in this case.
It is worth mentioning that the accused, Inspector Rahul Dubey, and constable Prashant Kumar were arrested on Tuesday afternoon. Both were trying to surrender in court. Police arrested both of them from the Azad Chowk area and handed them over to SIT Kanpur. The SIT questioned both of them for about five and a half hours. The medical of both was done at Ramgarhtal police station late in the night. Thereafter, the remand was produced in the magistrate's court. On the orders of the court, the constable and the constable were sent to jail for 14 days in judicial custody. Both were sent to Nehru Barracks at 9:45 pm. In this barrack, the main killers suspended Inspector JN Singh and Inspector Akshay Mishra are already lodged.
