On Monday, doctors in many cities of the country went on strike and staged protests against the rape and murder of a junior female resident doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College.
In the capital Delhi, resident doctors sat on the road outside the Nirman Bhavan, the office of the Union Health Ministry, with an OPD and appealed for justice to the victim's family. Due to the strike for several days, health services have been halted in most places and patients are suffering.
