Grammy Awards: Indian-American musician Chandrika Tandon won a Grammy, got an award for the album 'Triveni'

Indian-American singer and entrepreneur Chandrika Tandon has won the Grammy Award in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for the album Triveni. The 67th edition of the biggest music awards ceremony organized by the Recording Academy was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.

 

Chandrika expressed happiness

 

Chandrika is also a global business leader and the elder sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi. She won the award along with her colleagues South African flutist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Iru Matsumoto. The Chennai-born musician expressed his happiness after winning the Grammy Award. He said in an interview with the Recording Academy that it feels amazing.

 

These were nominated in this category.

 

Other nominees in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category include Break of Dawn by Ricky Kej, Opus by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Chapter 2: How Dark It Is Before Dawn by Anoushka Shankar, and Warriors of Light by Radhika Vekariya. He said that we had very wonderful nominees in this category. The fact that we have won this award is a really special moment for us. There were many wonderful musicians nominated along with us.

 

Chandrika Tandon's second Grammy nomination

 

Expressing her happiness while accepting the award, she said that music is love, music is light, and music is laughter and let us all be surrounded by love, light, and laughter. Thank you for the music and thank you to all the people who make music. This was Chandrika Tandon's second Grammy nomination after 2009's 'Soul Call' and first win.

 

Seven songs in 'Triveni'

The album 'Triveni', released on August 30, 2024, has seven tracks including "Pathway to Light", "Chant in A", "Journey Within", "Aether Serenade", "Ancient Moon", "Open Sky", and "Seeking Shakti".
