Nitesh Tiwari, who is known for making films like Dangal and Chhichhore, is directing a mythological film for the first time. Ramayana is the most anticipated and expensive movie of his career. Not only Nitesh Tiwari, but Ramayana has also proved to be the most expensive film of Indian cinema. The makers have invested so much money in making this film that you will also be shocked to know.
Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana is being made in two parts. The first part will be released in 2026 and the second part in 2027. The cast is fantastic. The VFX is also amazing; there is a full plan to show the nuances of cinematography and other things on screen. In such a situation, the makers have not thought about the budget at all to show Ramayana in the best way on the silver screen. The makers are investing so much money in this film that even a superhit film cannot earn that much.
Budget of Ramayana
According to the Bollywood Hungama report, the makers have put a budget of not 100-200 crores but a full 1600 crores for the Ramayana franchise. The budget of the first part of Ramayana (Ramayana Part 1 Budget) alone is Rs 900 crore, while Rs 700 crore has been set aside for the sequel. This huge expenditure makes 'Ramayana' the most expensive series in the history of Indian cinema.
Ramayan has such a huge budget of Rs 1600 crore from star cast to production and VFX. The budget seems less in the second because all the star cast will be seen in the sequel and there are some big action sequences on which money is being spent.
The star cast of Ramayana
This film is being produced by Namit Malhotra in collaboration with KGF star Yash's production company Monster Mind Creations and Prime Focus Studios. The responsibility for the music of the film is on the shoulders of AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Talking about the star cast, you can see the list here.
