The population explosion in the world in the last five decades is surprising everyone. From this, the question has arisen whether the increasing number of human beings on the earth should be seen as a burden or a curse or should be considered a boon. India is one of the countries where the increasing population is considered a problem. This is the reason why in the year 2019, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing the nation from the Red Fort on August 15, he linked the small family with patriotism.

In our country, the inspiration of small family or family planning has been awakened for many decades, but with the doubling of the world's population from four billion to eight billion in just 48 years, the political leadership and policy-makers of the populous country have a variety of ideas. There is also guilt. From his speeches and statements, it seems as if the increasing population of India can create many other problems including food grains the world. That's why it is very important to control it. Surely these figures surprise the whole world including India that in the year 1950 the population of the world was only two and a half billion, which has now crossed the figure of eight billion. Today neighboring China remains the most populous country in the world with 1.42 billion, so India is not far behind. Right now there are about 1.41 billion people in our country and with the pace of population growth here, we are going to overtake China at least next year in this matter.

 

It is also estimated that by reaching near the year 2050, the population of India-China will stabilize, and thereafter decrease can be registered. The world considers the decline in the population of young countries like ours to be worrisome from the point of view that it may reduce the working people ie workforce. Perhaps this is the reason why the population which we are considering a problem, is recorded by many economists and experts as a valuable resource or asset. Not only this, businessmen like Elon Musk (who need workers to run their offices and factories) say that many people are under the illusion that the earth is overpopulated.

 

Elon Musk said in a recent statement that there are clear signs of the birth rate in the world, which means that the population is going to decline. One reason for the population decline is that China, which had 25 percent of the world's population in 1900, could see a decline of 14 percent by 2050. This can happen in India as well because people have started giving importance to small families due to an increase in education and health awareness. By the way, it is a fact that when the population of India-China is decreasing, then the population of sub-Saharan African countries like Tanzania, Nigeria, and Congo, etc. would be increasing. As such, when the population will decline, its pace will stop, what will happen then, can only be guessed. But in the present conditions, the big question is whether the increasing number of human beings on the earth has become a burden in every respect.

Such claims are made that the biggest impact of increasing population is on the health and food habits of the children born. Children do not get proper nutrition, education, and sports opportunities. Due to the distribution of resources, children become vulnerable to many diseases including malnutrition. Those children who survive have to struggle for education and employment and suffer long periods of unemployment.

 

Pressure also falls on the governments and the administrative system. Governments are criticized for not providing proper employment to the youth. The population also puts pressure on the resources like roads, electricity, houses, etc. and due to the division of holdings (cultivation area) among the families engaged in agriculture, their income decreases manifold. All these claims and figures are not bookish.

 

The situation is such that huge crowds are visible everywhere in Logbagh whether it is to visit a tourist destination, travel by train bus, go through the process of admission to educational institutions, or apply for jobs. The situation has become like a pomegranate and millions are sick. In such a situation, an atmosphere of disorder and anarchy is created in many places and the situation gets out of control. There is also an allegation that the birth of more children by the people of the Muslim community has created an atmosphere of chaos in the country, for which it is very important to adopt rules like the 'two child policy'.
