Once again the government has broken all the records in the GST collection. According to the information given by the Finance Ministry on Sunday, the GST revenue in April reached an all-time high of about Rs 1.68 lakh crore. Earlier in March, the GST revenue was Rs 1.42 lakh crore. The Finance Ministry said that 25 thousand crores more revenue has been received in April as compared to March.
The Center said that the reason for the improvement in GST revenue is improving economic activities. According to the information given, the GST revenue of April this year is 20 percent more than last year. The Finance Ministry said that GST returns of 1.06 crore were filed in April.
The Finance Ministry said that out of the total revenue of Rs 1.68 lakh crore, CGST is Rs 33,159 crore, SGST is Rs 41,793 crore, IGST is Rs 81,939 crore and cess is Rs 10,649 crore. This is the first time since the implementation of GST that the GST collection has crossed Rs 1.50 lakh crore in a single month.
The Finance Ministry said, a total of 7.7 crore e-way bills were generated in March 2022, which is 13 percent more than 68 crore e-way bills in February 2022. At the same time, 1.06 crore GST returns were filed in GSTR-3B during April this year, out of which 97 lakh returns were filed in March. A total of 92 lakh returns were filed during April 2021.
