After the 17th round of talks with China, it has become clear that it is not willing to reduce the tension in the border dispute. As a result, the Indian Army will still stand on the 3,488 km long LAC of both countries. This is the third consecutive winter when both armies are face to face. However, this time the deployment is the biggest.
Sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Defense say that at present about 2 lakh soldiers of China are ready on LAC. Indian Army and ITBP also have almost the same number of personnel deployed. It is also happening for the first time that China has accumulated a large number of weapons. India is also not behind in this. The weapons deployed on the LAC include a variety of tanks, rocket launchers, multi-grenade launchers, under-barrel launchers, assault rifles, etc.
Order to buy high-resolution cameras placed in India
It has also recently placed an order to buy 17 high-resolution cameras in India. With these cameras, China can be closely monitored. These cameras will be given to ITBP. ITBP is deployed at an altitude of 9000 to 18,000 feet on the China border.
Sources say that the difference between the two sides on the disputed border has remained very less. In many places, the Chinese army is stationed just 500 feet away. Seeing China's firm structures, India has made a significant change in strategy.
An official of the Ministry of External Affairs says that there is no major dispute between India and China at the moment, but we cannot back down from our preparations. China's intention is only to show its dominance in the region.
ITBP to set up additional posts in Arunachal
Because of the clash in the Tawang sector on December 9, ITBP has decided to set up additional posts near the disputed areas in Arunachal Pradesh. Additional troops will be deployed on the 17,000 feet high peak of Yangtse, where Chinese soldiers tried to sabotage by entering. Because of China's gimmicks, 90 thousand ITBP personnel are already deployed in various sectors.
China rejected all agreements
China rejected almost all the agreements made with India after 1997 regarding the restoration of peace on the disputed border. These include the committee held in 2013, which was headed by the current foreign minister S.K. Jaishankar was made while he was the foreign secretary. It was clearly stated that-
Both sides will neither take any provocative action nor use force against each other. Will not even give any kind of threat.
The two sides will not follow each other or do tail-patrolling when they come across each other, that is, they will not follow each other.
Where the Line of Control is unclear, clarification may be sought from each other in case of suspicious activity. The answer to this will be found only under a process.
Sources say that China has continuously broken this agreement. In such a situation, India has no other option but to strengthen its position.
