Gujarat Titans have announced the replacement of Kane Williamson who has been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to injury. Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka has entered the Gujarat camp in place of Williamson.

Shanaka likes the T20 format and is known for his explosive batting. Along with the bat, Shanaka can also play an important role with the ball. Shanaka's performance was amazing in the T20 International series played against India and he scored 124 runs at a strike rate of 187 and an average of 62. Williamson was injured while fielding
Kane Williamson was injured during fielding in the match played against Chennai Super Kings. In fact, during the 13th over of Chennai Super Kings' innings, Williamson jumped and tried to stop an aerial shot played by Ruturaj Gaikwad at the boundary line.
