Around 12:45 AM on January 31st, indiscriminate firing took place at the Juhu residence of Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty in Mumbai. Following this incident, Rohit Shetty's name came into the spotlight. The Mumbai Police went on high alert after the brazen shooting at the director's house and formed a Mumbai Anti-Extortion Cell to apprehend the perpetrators.

Now, this special team of the Mumbai Police has achieved a major success, arresting four accused individuals from Pune in connection with the firing at Rohit Shetty's house and also seizing a motorcycle. Furthermore, the mastermind behind the incident has also been identified.

Who is the mastermind behind the attack?

According to the Mumbai Anti-Extortion Cell, the ringleader of the four accused arrested in the Rohit Shetty house firing case is Shubham Lonkar, a member of the Bishnoi gang. Shubham hails from Akola, Maharashtra.

Lonkar initially worked in farming and at a cow shed in Akola. He gradually started supplying weapons. Two years ago, in October 2024, Shubham's name also surfaced in connection with the Baba Siddiqui murder case.

Later, he came under suspicion in the shooting incident at superstar Salman Khan's house. Lonkar was also arrested by the Akola police in January 2024 in a case related to weapons supply. However, he was later released on bail. In Jaisalmer, he met some members of the Bishnoi gang and joined their group. After being influenced by the Bishnoi gang, he shifted to Pune.

One accused is still at large.

Besides Shubham Lonkar, the other accused arrested by the Mumbai Anti-Extortion Cell include Aditya Gyaneshwar Gaikwad, Siddharth Deepak Yenpure, Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji, and Swapnil Bandu Sakat. It is being reported that there is another suspect besides these two, who is currently beyond the reach of the police.
