Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma created a new history during the India-Pakistan match on 9 June. He became the first batsman in the world to hit a six in the first over of T20I by Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

In fact, to date, no batsman had hit a six in the first over of Shaheen Afridi in T20I, but what no one could do was done by Rohit Sharma. On the third ball of the first over, Shaheen bowled a bad ball on the pad line. Rohit easily flicked it towards deep square leg and hit a brilliant six. This was the first time in Shaheen Afridi's 68 T20I matches that a batsman hit a six in his first over. Not only this, Rohit Sharma is the first batsman to hit a six in Shaheen Afridi's first over in ODIs.
