Then questions arise, who will get the vaccine and when? Will everyone get vaccinated together? How long will it take for antibodies to form in the body after vaccination? How will the vaccine be selected for application? To answer many questions like these and these, the government has released videos in three parts. Among them, Dr. Randeep Guleria, director of AIIMS-Delhi has given the answers. Here are Dr. Guleria's answers to selected questions-
Will everyone get the vaccine together?
No. Not yet. This will depend on the availability of the vaccine. The government has set priority groups keeping in mind the risk factor. The first group consists of healthcare workers and frontline workers. The second group consists of people over 50 years of age and people in their 50s who are suffering from diseases like diabetes, blood pressure. Together they are 30 crores.
Is it mandatory to have a vaccine?
No. The government has left it at your wish. Even after this, my advice is that for the safety of yourself and your loved ones, get a vaccine.
How many doses of the vaccine will be given?
The vaccine will have two doses. These will be given at a difference of 28 days. Everyone has to apply two doses, only then the vaccine schedule will be completed.
How long will it take to make antibodies?
At least 42 days before the first dose. That is, two weeks after the second dose, antibodies to protect the body from corona will be formed.
What will be the side effects and what will they be like?
Side-effects cannot be ruled out. Common side-effects from the vaccine are common. Side-effects such as mild fever, pain at the vaccine site, body pain may occur. States have been instructed to ensure the safety of the vaccine process. If anyone has any kind of side-effect, appropriate measures will be taken to deal with it at the same site.
How do I know if I am eligible for vaccination?
In the initial stages, the vaccine is being given to priority groups. These people will be notified on the registered mobile number. Where the vaccine will be placed, the message will come from the primary center itself. It will also be told when and where the vaccine will be installed so that there is no problem in the registration and vaccination of the people.
Can I get a vaccine without registration?
No. It will not be. Registration is mandatory. The place where the vaccine will be placed will be informed only after registration. The government has created a COVIN (Co-WIN) app and platform, which will provide technical assistance in real-time monitoring of the vaccine. Only people will be able to do vaccination on this.
What type of documents will be available to eligible people for registration?
These documents along with the photo have to be produced for registration: driving license, health insurance smart card issued by the Ministry of Labor, MGNREGA job card, MP, ID card issued to legislators, PAN card, bank/post office passbook, Passport, pension documents, service IDs and voter ID cards issued to employees by the central and state government.
What if I do not have a photo ID?
Photo ID is required to be submitted at the time of registration and vaccination. It will only be known that the right person is vaccinated.
How will people get information about the date of vaccination?
People who have registered after online registration will get SMS. They will be informed about the date, place, and time.
Will there be status information on vaccination?
Yes After the vaccination, the person will receive an SMS on the registered mobile number. The QR-Code based certificate will also be sent after applying all the doses.
If a person has symptoms of corona or is positive, will they get the vaccine?
No. Such people can spread infection by visiting vaccination sites. We do not know how effective the vaccine would be in such a situation. I believe that those who have the infection should undergo vaccination 14 days after the symptoms are gone.
Is it necessary for a person recovered from Corona to be vaccinated?
Yes Those who have had corona and have recovered, are also being suggested to apply the vaccine. With this, they can develop a better immune response to this infection.
If a person is taking medicines for diseases like cancer, diabetes, hypertension, should he get vaccinated?
Yes, I think it is extremely important that such people be vaccinated because they fall into high-risk groups. It is also important for them to understand that the effect of the vaccine will not be affected by the drugs.
What precautions need to be taken after vaccination?
My advice is to rest there for at least half an hour after vaccination. If there are any symptoms or problems, then inform the authorities there, so that they can treat you as per the need.
