After the rebellion of pro-Gehlot MLAs in Rajasthan Congress, the name of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was told out of the race for the post of president. However, Gehlot is not out of the race yet. Ashok Gehlot is scheduled to meet party president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi on Wednesday. Sources say that Gehlot will file a nomination for the presidential election only when consent is received from the Gandhi family. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 8. In case of more than one candidate, voting will be held on October 17 and results will be declared on October 19.
