When asked about the direct cash transfer scheme of the Government of India, he said that considering the size of India, it is a miracle how the benefits of government schemes directly reached crores of people belonging to the low-income group.
Great use of technology
In India, priority has been given to women, old people, and farmers among the beneficiaries of such schemes. Along with this, a lot of technology has been used to identify the beneficiaries. Along with this, technology innovation has also been resorted to for disbursing funds from the government.
The big advantage of Aadhaar card
Pointing to the Aadhaar card, Paolo Mauro further said that technological innovations such as the Unique Identification System have helped the government to provide direct help to the people. Aadhar card has a big contribution in making the direct cash transfer scheme successful.
