The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday praised India's direct cash transfer scheme. Along with this, it was called a 'Logistical Marvel'. Also said that it is a big deal to successfully implement such a scheme in a big country like India.
Paolo Mauro, deputy director of the Department of Financial Affairs at the IMF, said in a press conference that we need to learn a lot from India. We have people of all income groups in every continent of the world. If we look at the record of taking government schemes to the people, then the performance of India is quite impressive.
Direct cash transfer scheme told miracle
When asked about the direct cash transfer scheme of the Government of India, he said that considering the size of India, it is a miracle how the benefits of government schemes directly reached crores of people belonging to the low-income group.

In India, priority has been given to women, old people, and farmers among the beneficiaries of such schemes. Along with this, a lot of technology has been used to identify the beneficiaries. Along with this, technology innovation has also been resorted to for disbursing funds from the government.
The big advantage of Aadhaar card
Pointing to the Aadhaar card, Paolo Mauro further said that technological innovations such as the Unique Identification System have helped the government to provide direct help to the people. Aadhar card has a big contribution in making the direct cash transfer scheme successful.
