An Akasa Air spokesperson said on the incident that on October 14, Akasa Air flight QP 1103, which took off from Mumbai to Bangalore, had to return to Mumbai due to a foul smell in the cabin due to a bird collision. The plane landed safely in Mumbai and all the passengers were deboarded. The aircraft was thoroughly inspected. The company's customer service team assisted passengers and made arrangements to accommodate their travels. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the passengers.
DGCA issued advisory
In August, the DGCA issued an advisory to all airports in the country, warning about the danger to flights from wildlife and birds. The move was issued after several incidents of birds colliding with planes. This includes regular patrolling at the airport by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, informing pilots to be alert during the monsoon period to avoid such incidents.
